Let's Get Kinky.

NEWS FLASH - theres a hot new trend creating intimacy, but before I go further, let me clarify… by ‘trend’ I mean interior decorating trend, by ‘intimacy’ I mean an intimate interior space and by ‘kinky’ I mean kink - a new shape i’ve notice in modular sofas (and by ‘notice’ I mean L O V E)

Instead of your typical right angle corner sofa / modular sofa / sofa with a chaise - we are starting to see this new shape, the sofa has a “kink” in it. It an angle instead of a corner or 90 degree turn.

This is why at H&C we are loving this style of sofa:

  • Curves and angles are great for transit spaces, it softens the transition & opens up the space. It can lead you into a space.

  • If your sofa is not against a wall, the sofa can be a big ‘block’ in the space. The ‘kink’ on the end of end of he sofa softens the look of the sofa & reduces the look of bulk.

  • The void created behind the ‘kink’ allow room for a plant or floor lamp.

  • If you are short for ‘length’ but want extra ‘bums-on-seats’, but adding the kinked return side, you get the extra seating without peoples knees banging together (as you would be a right angle return corner/chaise).

  • For those precious moments when we get to stop & just talk to each other, its nice to face each other instead of sitting in a straight line. This style sofa encourages socialising without the need of additional seating in the room.

If you’re in the market for a new sofa & I have convinced you to get ‘kinky’, go have a look at the pic’s below.
